Every patient begins with a thorough assessment. This includes a detailed history, physical examination, and where appropriate, movement and neurological testing. Our goal is to understand how your body is functioning as a whole, not just where it hurts, so care is specific, appropriate, and guided by findings rather than assumptions.
No referral is needed. You can book directly with us online or by calling our Victoria Park clinic. We'll take care of everything from there.
We typically have same-week appointments available at our Victoria Park clinic. Book online to see our current availability or call or text us on 0493 290 505.
Chiropractic care is covered by most private health funds with extras cover. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm your level of cover before your appointment.
Your first visit is all about understanding what’s going on and whether we can help.
We’ll start with a detailed conversation about your symptoms, health history, and goals. From there, we perform a thorough assessment, which may include movement, posture, and neurological checks depending on your needs.
We take the time to explain what we find in clear, simple language so you feel informed and comfortable every step of the way.
If it’s appropriate and safe to do so, we’ll discuss your options for care and, in some cases, treatment may begin on the first visit. If not, we’ll guide you on the next best step based on your results.
Chiropractic care is widely used and well-established. At Freeman Chiropractic, every patient begins with a thorough assessment so that care is appropriate, specific, and guided by clinical findings. We also offer lower-force techniques for patients who prefer a gentler approach.
While the spine and pelvis are central to how the nervous system and body function, we assess and work with the body as a whole. Depending on your presentation, this may include areas such as the shoulders, hips, ribs, knees, ankles, or other joints that are contributing to how your body is moving and compensating. Care is guided by assessment findings rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Many of our patients come to us after dealing with persistent or recurring pain for a long time. We approach each case individually, starting with a thorough assessment to understand the full picture. From there we'll be honest with you about what we may be able to help with and what realistic progress could look like for your situation.
Physiotherapy and chiropractic care share some similarities but differ in approach. Chiropractors focus specifically on the spine, pelvis, and nervous system and how these structures affect overall function and movement. At Freeman Chiropractic, our care is assessment-driven and hands-on, with a focus on identifying patterns that contribute to pain rather than just addressing symptoms. Many of our patients have seen other practitioners before coming to us — we're happy to discuss whether chiropractic care is the right fit for your situation.
Not necessarily — and that's intentional. Your first visit is primarily an assessment. Dr Alex or Dr Joel will take the time to properly understand your history, examine how your body is moving, and explain what they find. Whether any hands-on care begins at that first appointment depends entirely on what the assessment reveals and what feels appropriate for your situation. Some patients do receive care at their first visit, while others benefit from completing the assessment first and beginning care at a follow-up appointment. Either way, nothing happens without your full understanding and agreement. You'll always know exactly what we're doing and why before we do anything.
The number of visits varies depending on your individual situation, the nature of your complaint, and how your body responds to care. Your chiropractor will discuss a recommended care plan with you following your initial assessment. We believe in keeping you informed throughout the process and reviewing your progress regularly.

A chiropractor is a registered healthcare practitioner who specialises in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of conditions affecting the spine, joints, and nervous system. At Freeman Chiropractic, our chiropractors use hands-on manual techniques — including spinal adjustments and soft tissue work — to support better movement, reduce discomfort, and help your body function as well as possible.
Yes, Freeman Chiropractic provides chiropractic assessments and care for pregnant patients. Pregnancy places significant demands on the spine and pelvis, and some patients find chiropractic support helpful during this time. We use techniques that are appropriate for each stage of pregnancy. Please let us know you are pregnant when booking so we can prepare appropriately.
Freeman Chiropractic was founded after nearly 20 years of clinical experience across rural and metropolitan clinics.
Over that time, Alex saw the same pattern repeatedly — people under constant stress, sitting for long hours, training hard, and slowly losing confidence in their bodies.
Freeman Chiropractic was created to address this reality.
Our approach focuses on precise assessment, effective hands-on care, and clear explanations so you always understand what’s happening and why.
The goal isn’t just short-term relief — it’s helping you move better, feel stronger, and get back to the things you enjoy.
